Finishing what you start

I am thinking this is a lesson my kids have not fully learned yet.

I know I cannot expect perfection from them in all things...yet. :)

But really...

They go in the cabinet under the sink.

The one you can see in the picture!

She wouldn't of even needed to shuffle her feet to put them away.

Yes, I am very grateful she cleans the bathroom, please do not think I am unaware of that small miracle.

But really!?

As a side note, my "H" key started working again!! I don't think it liked me talking bad about his abilities to all of you.

If it makes you feel any better...we have the same problem here as well! Glad to know I'm not the only one!!!!

Oh, we have that same problem!

At our house, the kids will load the dishwasher and then not turn it on.
Strangely enough, hours later, the dishes are still dirty.

I hear you. I guess we just count the small miracles and keep working on teaching the finishing aspect.

The problem does not seem to get better as they get older either!

All three of my kids (13yr, 15yr, & 20yr)still will do a chore but leave out the windex, paper towels, vaccuum, what ever. So I still follow behind them.

I hear you loud and clear on that. But YEAH for cleaning. Small steps...

That is sooo my kids. I think that they do it just to tick us off sometimes. You gotta love em:)

I always get after the kids about leaving their shoes right by the shoe box. Some things just never sink in....

I'm just impressed she cleaned the bathroom! I cannot get my children to do this for anything. I do see the frustration though in the extra step.

Well I have to say at least your are old enough to clean, mine are at the age all they do is mess up! Glad your H is working too!

Yep, it happens here too. All. the. time. I think they're doing it to drive us crazy. And over here? It's working. :)

Oh my word, Savannah does that too! I keep telling her part of her chore is to put the crap away when she's done... Fun times!

Now see my kids do that but if I ask them to go back and do it right they would then put them on the floor---closer to the cabinet but not actually in it. It would probably take a few tries!
